Holiday Train Display

The holiday train will return to the lobby of the Kenosha Public Museum beginning Friday, November 28th.

The layout is designed and built by the G-Scalers Model Train Club, and features a historic snow village. Two Christmas trains and a trolley will delight museum visitors.  After the holidays, the display will be transformed to a Civil War scene, beginning Jan. 5, 2009. Two old time steam engines will run – one passenger train and one freight train. Plans for the new display include representation of the Union and Confederacy.

The train display will be in the lobby through Jan. 31, 2009.  This free annual event is open to the public.

Museum Hours: Sunday - Monday 12-5 p.m., Tuesday - Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Closed holidays. General admission is free. Program and group fees may apply.

Kenosha Public Museum
Bus Trip to Milwaukee
For "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition"

The Kenosha Public Museum will host a bus trip to Milwaukee on Friday, Dec. 12 to “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” at the Milwaukee Public Museum.  The bus trip departs from Kenosha at 9 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m.

Visitors will experience the tragic story of the Titanic – the world's largest ship – which sank on her maiden trans-Atlantic voyage on an otherwise calm morning in April 1912.  More than 200 objects were recovered from the ship and preserved to tell the story of the 2,228 souls who were part of the ship's history.  The RMS Titanic's First and Third Class cabin have been recreated.  The audio tour is included.

A Titanic lunch of roasted pork sandwich, chips, cheese cubes, currant buns and beverage is included.  After lunch, tour-goers are free to tour the rest of the Museum.  You'll want to be sure to visit the Streets of Old Milwaukee and the European Village decked out in their holiday finest.

Cost is $70 and $65 for Friends of the Museum (including cost of lunch.)  For more information, please call the Museum at 262-653-4140.
